


There are several features in our PC which we don’t know. One of them is the Command Prompt.
The CMD Prompt Command is the command line interpreter application available in most Windows operating systems. It can be found in the menu section of a PC and it is used to run entered commands. Most of those commands are for automating tasks via scripts and batch files, troubleshooting, or solving some Windows issues.
It is also known as Windows Command Processor, and its file name is cmd.exe.
How To Access The Command Prompt?
There are many ways to open this tool but the most common and easy method is the Command Prompt shortcut available in the start menu or on the apps screen. Another way of accessing this is via the cmd run command.
How To Use Command Prompt?
To use this, you have to enter a valid Command Prompt command along with any optional subject. Then it executes the command as entered and performs the task.
The command must be entered properly without any mistakes to get the perfect result. The wrong entry or misspelling could cause wrong results. It may perform the wrong task or do the right task in the wrong way.

There are several commands that we use generally. But we don’t use all of them. Here are some common commands used by users.
chkdsk, copy, ftp, del, format, ping, attrib, net, dir, help, and shutdown

This tool is available on every Windows operating system including Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000. And also in older versions like Windows Server 2012, 2008, and 2003.
